Join us for a peaceful, creative afternoon at Forager Crafts in Frogtown for a two-hour handbuilt ceramics class. In this session, you’ll learn from January of Stone Garden Ceramics how to craft a beautiful orb-shaped vase using the slab technique—a foundational method that teaches essential handbuilding skills in ceramics.
This class is open to all levels, including complete beginners & more intermediate students, and will guide you through the process of designing and building your own unique vase. With a few inspiring examples to spark ideas, you'll have the freedom to interpret the orb shape in your own creative way. During the class, you'll construct your vase step-by-step, enjoying the relaxing, hands-on experience in our tranquil studio.
Once your vase is built, your instructor will carefully take it to her personal studio for drying, firing, and glazing. The interior will be sealed with glaze, and after the second firing, you’ll be notified when your handcrafted piece is ready for pick-up back at Forager.
All materials and tools are provided, so you can simply bring your creativity and leave with a truly one-of-a-kind piece!
